Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Provide welding engineering technical support to the sub contractors and Welding
  • Superintendent.
  • Assure integrity of the sub contractors welding operations.
  • Provide site based technical solutions to welding problems.
  • Conduct technical welding Reviews
  • Interpret welding requirements and provides technical guidance as requested.
  • Verify pWPS qualification requirements
  • Review and approve welding related documents including: Inspection and Test Plans,
  • PWPS’sPQR’sWPS, Weld Maps, consumable handling procedures etc…
  • Interface with sub-contractors s welding engineers.
  • Attend regular sub-contractor Welding Meetings
  • Approve Welder qualification, monitor performance, analyse repair data and recommend
  • action for improvement.

Participate as Technical Expert during audit for Welding activities

Job Requirements

  • Ideally an International/European Welding Engineer or alternatively working towards IWE/EWE.
  • Ideally a Graduate Engineer from Metallurgy and Welding related
  • A minimum of 10 years experience within the welding industry ideally oil and gas
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a Quality related environment.
  • Knowledge of all welding processes and their application
  • Familiar with International codes including ASME, API, ASTM, NACE, EN/ISO
  • Broad based fabrication experience essential and should have some exposure to at least two of the following: piping, pressure vessels, equipment Rotating and Static, storage tanks and pipelines.
  • Knowledge of Sour Service an advantage
  • Experience with the welding of C/Mn steels, LTCS, Stainless Steels (including Duplex and super
  • Duplex) and Nickel Alloys essential.
  • Experience of CRA lined vessels and piping beneficial.
  • Must be familiar with the application and limitation of NDT methods although formal
  • qualification is not required.
  • Must be accustomed to a site base working environment
