Head of Control and Automation Engineering

Job Description

• The Head of Control and Automation Engineering will be responsible to head a department of Control and Automation Engineers and execute a number of Control and Automation studies, Front End Engineering Design on upstream oil and gas facilities and pipelines, ensuring deliverables are met and continuous improvements are achieved.
• The candidate will be the highest Technical Authority for all issues related to Control and Automation Engineering, and in addition to this be responsible for managing and leading Front End and Detail Design activities as well as providing Control and Automation Engineering support activities to Operations, Commissioning and Engineering Projects.

His roles and responsibilities will include, but not limited to the following:
a. Lead multi-discipline team in a multi-cultural environment.
b. Manage the development of Omani staff by coaching, mentoring and supporting on the job training.
c. Execute studies and development planning to a high standard in a highly fluid customer gas demand planning environment.
d. Plan & propose implementation of new technology.
e. Ensure that effective business controls are applied in all aspects of the work and in accordance with corporate requirements (incl. HSE, commercial, financial, quality, integrity, schedule, etc.)
g. Provide process discipline support to and maintain clear and efficient interfaces with Operations and other department team within the Company.
The Head of Control and Automation Engineering shall have, as a minimum, the following qualification and experience:
1. University Graduate with minimum a Degree in Control and Automation or equivalent.
2. At least 15 year’s experience as Control and Automation Engineering in upstream oil & gas business of which should be: i. Minimum of 5 year experience in leadership of Control and automation engineering department.ii. Minimum of 5 years in Front End Engineering and Detail Design of facilities and pipelines, which should include design of a gas and oil processing facilityiii. Minimum of 5 years in Operation and Commissioningiv. Experience in Operationv. Experience in staff development and knowledge transfer
